In this episode we’re thrilled to have registered dietitian and certified health coach Martha Tettenborn as our guest. Martha opted into a health coaching certification after three decades as a dietician because she felt she could make more meaningful changes in the health of her clients as a health coach.
Martha’s private health coach practice, The Cancer Doula, promotes a low-carb, whole-foods-based approach to disease prevention and cancer symptom management. She has been a featured speaker at the Low Carb Long Weekend Summit and on numerous podcasts. Martha also instructs courses for the Nutrition Network and Udemy on the ketogenic approach to cancer treatment.
We’re excited to announce that Martha is the author of our latest specialty course, the Functional Therapeutic Diet Specialty certification. In this conversation, Martha, Erin and Laura talk through several functional nutritional methodologies and explain how health coaches can use them.
Martha also shares how she used keto and fasting during her cancer treatment, why she moved from being a registered dietitian to a Health Coach (to make more impact), and why small changes are important with her elderly clients. She also tells us about the work and learning she did to help create this certification – including eliminating some of the not so well supported diets.
If you are a fan of using diet as a tool to create better health, this is the episode for you.
